Please, how did you guys cope with CDS during NYSC? ( I'm speaking to the former youth corp members) I don tire, I hadn't been attending CDS meetings but with the last problem I encountered I promised I was going to make a change and start attending.
Upon turning a new leaf, i dressed up for CDS as usual and got to the venue earlier than everyone else( you go fear changed girl now!) i waited for most people to come and the CDS President was shocked to see me come so early. He was used to me being late, or not present at all. I queued up to sign the attendance not knowing they had changed my CDS officer. The former lady was kind at heart and always took time out to ask after my well-being- Knowing you are a medical personnel had its advantages- you could always claim being on duty or just returning from night shift. Most people would end up taking pity on you and allowing you jump the queue or walk away before the end of meetings. But this new officer wasn't nice at all; she changed the old register when she was assigned to our unit and anyone who wasn't around during the change would have his/her name automatically omitted from the register. Since I hadn't been a regular Corper, my name was not on the register but Alhamdulilahi, God worked wonders and I was able to get my name on the register. That incident made me stick to my new resolution
So this fateful Wednesday, I attended CDS early ( i had become a punctual member) but decided to tone up my khaki with these yeezy boots gifted me by my brother. I looked so fly and got various compliments. Well, I told you all about how my khaki shorts had gotten torn so I got a replacement but this time, my khaki was somewhat different. It was free, but at a glance, you'd suspect it was self made.
So I entered the complex that day and the song "all eyes on me" by meek mill kept playing in my head. Just then, my CDS group leader came around to say the topic for the day was 'safe sex' and since i was the only medical personnel in the group, He wanted me to assist another youth corper on the group discussion. The new CDS officer asked everyone to gather around. I had heard rumors of her hardheartedness and wicked attitude but I didn't let that disturb me. For me, if I no cross your path, leave me make I dey my lane. So, the speakers were asked to stand; na im the woman provoke o. Asked me to get out( because i was wearing black sneakers) and in turn sort out everyone on black shoes and drove them away. I then remembered I had white plastic sneaks in my bag- more like call room shoes. I quickly changed into the sneaks and came back. Omo, the woman shouted more o... "I don't want to see you!"- those were her words.
I kept wondering why, even everyone was wondering about her undue outburst till she said, "your shoe is plastic it's not even the real one." Aye mi, my life! Look at this woman o... Federal government pays 19,800 how much is original sneakers and how much would be left if I bought real white sneakers? I kept begging( people who know me, know I hate to beg) but I begged still. The woman started shouting saying," tell me her name I'll deal with her; You'd have an extension." Na that time I provoke my own.
Long story short, I walked away and didn't turn back I was really pissed. Why would anyone act like a god over others. You didn't want black shoe I changed it yet you're still crying. Wtf? Okay initially I thought it was because she was angry that I had white sneakers in my bag all the while but didn't wear it. Madam was angry because they were plastic- kukuma kill me! Goan buy for me now- radarada oshi!(nonsense)
My dear people I have finally decided. I have white Nike shoes intact; I always wore Nike to these CDS meetings though other times I wore Reebok or Lonsdale instead. I'm a shoe lover and I love to wear good shoes but that day, I had the plastic for back up in case they complained about the black shoes. Every other CDS officer would ask you to go change and once you did, they would let you be as far as they had proven their point they saw no season to make you suffer. So from now, I solemnly swear not to waste my designer shoes on NYSC the cab fare I spend is enough! Rubber shoe ti take over. I want her to prove the reason she's sending me out of meeting is because my shoe is made of rubber then I'll cry out. White shoe is white shoe regardless of it's make. After all, even federal government gave me over size. I indicated my size was 37 yet they gave me 43!
There'll be another CDS soon and i'll be rocking my rubber sneakers.... You all should prepare for another gist on here and videos everywhere if she tries anything!
For now, please beg June to end, money don finish o.....
Her head dey touch well well.. Abeg tag me for IG if the video come out

DeleteSweetie you don't want to have a repeated session with her, I made up my mind from orientation camp not to be on the offence side is never beautiful. Please for serving and intending corpers you must understand that you are seen as those people on federal uniform and a lot of discipline is expected from you that is why we were drilled(well I was in the camp clinic mostly Base on chief pharm) and there exist a code of conduct from us be it in our punctuality, attendance, mode of dressing(depending on the function)and charcter. We must obey this clarion call and its baggage as dutifully as we can not for fear of extension but to prove we are worthy of knowledge, character and service from the various higher institutions and homes we are from. Dear, plastic shoes are fine, is even raining season now and the plastic white shoes is best suited now. Then before I forget, the woman either envys you or like you, I would recommend you stay on her good side, be careful, be calm as a dove and be wise as a serpent, obey all rules my darling as obedient children we do that with ease and I know you, you can live with anybody be it a monster and not have a misunderstanding with them see her as a tougher fellowship mama.
